Overview

Michelangelo‘s poetic fury, Donatello‘s oddities, Florence’s pride, and St. Francis of Assisi’s humility. The Church of Rome’s excessive power, and the more despotic generations of the Medici family.

Passing through Dante Alighieri, Giotto, Filippo Brunelleschi, Galileo Galilei, and more great artists, poets, musicians, and writers.

Like John Ruskin, who wrote his fascinating guide “Mornings in Florence” at the end of the nineteenth century, ours will be a walk to admire the most significant (and lesser known) works of the Florentine fifteenth century gold season. We’ll see how this period of Florentine history affected the city, and how it has shaped the people, culture, and art of today.
