Parco delle Cascine

A few minutes from the historic center, the Parco delle Cascine is a breath of the verdant nature of Florence and an oasis of tranquility for safe cycling.

The whole public park can be pedaled in absolute safety.

Characterized by rich vegetation, vast meadows, avenues and paths, it is the ideal place to spend your free time enjoying the nature and quiet of the area.

“Le Cascine” also has a market place (every Tuesday morning), venue of events (cultural and fair events) and much more.

Various species of trees can be admired in the piazzale Vittorio Veneto (cedars of the Atlas), in the square of the Cascine (domestic pines, plane trees and a spectacular Ginkgo Bilboa), on the edge of the Arno (white poplars), in the Quercione meadow (platani, lecci), and in the chain garden (horse chestnut trees and cedars).

There are many species of birds that inhabit the Park: in addition to the most common (sparrows, swifts, blackcaps, starlings, blackbirds, robins, parrots, etc.) you can also see herons and egrets.

From the Parco delle Cascine, continue along a flat dirt cycle track to the Parco dei Renai, located outside Florence, with historic references along the way.

Il Parco dei Renai

The Parco dei Renai was the object of quarrying and gravel activity in the 50s and 60s. The final destination of the area is now a Natural Park and a Green area equipped for recreational and sporting activities by the water. The excursion is suitable for those looking for a flat route, free from vehicle traffic, and is therefore very suitable for families with children, even very young.
