Overview

Our guide will begin the journey by illustrating the Baptistery and its famous golden vault with Byzantine mosaics. You'll then continue on to the NEW MUSEUM OF THE OPERA DEL DUOMO, with the original Door of Paradise, the Magdalene by Donatello, the Pietà by Michelangelo, and many other Renaissance works. You also cannot miss the ascent to the Dome of Filippo Brunelleschi to discover the mystery of this revolutionary construction along with its frescoes of the sixteenth century- among them, the famous Universal Judgment.

From the top of the dome our guide will introduce you to the artistic beauties of the Cathedral, which you can admire from a privileged place, removed from the crowd below.

The guide will then leave you free to conclude the tour with the ascent to Giotto's Bell Tower, from which you can enjoy the aerial view of an incomparable view of the city of Florence- right from its center!

What To Expect

Duomo - Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore
Florence's cathedral stands tall over the city with its magnificent Renaissance dome designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, with the baptistery right across. Florence's cathedral is the 4th largest in the world, after St. Peter's in Rome, St. Paul's in London and the Duomo in Milan.
The cathedral named in honor of Santa Maria del Fiore is a vast Gothic structure built on the site of the 7th century church of Santa Reparata, the remains of which can be seen in the crypt.

The Fabbriceria della Cattedrale di Firenze was founded in 1296 by the Florentine Republic to oversee the construction of the Duomo and is responsible for its conservation.

The complex is divided into the Baptistery of San Giovanni with the Porta del Paradiso, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Crypt of Santa Reparata, the Dome of Brunelleschi, and Giotto's Bell Tower.
