Palazzo dei Priori, Palazzo della Signoria, Palazzo del Comune, Palazzo Ducale or Palazzo Vecchio?

All these names indicate the city’s seat of Government, in the beginning it was the seat of the Republic, later of the Duchy, of the Kingdom of Italy and today is the city’s government house; the mayor has here his office.

Cosimo the older was here imprisoned, later the Palace became Cosimo I de Medici’s greatness symbol.

The Palace hides secret passages and places that show the greatness of the Florentine Republic.
