Overview

A full Daytrip inside the landscape of the Chianti rolling hills, avenues of cypress trees, medieval hilltop towns and tasting the best wines of our Region. In the morning meet your driver-escort at your hotel or another chosen location, (B&B or private flat). Drive through the sweet Siena hills, amidst olive groves, cypress trees and vineyards. Visit the magnificent Towers of San Gimignano and the historical centre. San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town. Known as the Town of Fine Towers. The town also is known for its white wine, Vernaccia, produced from the ancient variety of Vernaccia grape which is grown on the sandstone hillsides of the area. Later move to a real Tuscan farm, to understand the secrets of wine production and enjoy a lunch with Lasagna or home made Pasta and 8 Wine Tasting included. After lunch visit the wonderful Medieval Castle of Monteriggioni. On the way back you will have a second Wine Tasting in another local Chianti winery not far from Siena.

What To Expect

San Gimignano

Our driver escort will pick you up at your location (hotel, B&B or private apartment) and take you on a drive through the sweet hills of Tuscany. First stop in San Gimignano for a free visit (Towers, Churches, Shops and Gelato). San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town not far from Siena. Known as the Town of Fine Towers, The town also is known for saffron, the Golden Ham, and its white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, produced from the ancient variety of Vernaccia grape which is grown on the sandstone. In the main square don't forget to taste the best ice cream in the world (Gelateria Dondoli two times world champion).

Chianti Road

Later we will drive in one of the most beatifull wine road in Tuscany, we will drive through the sweet Siena hills, amidst olive groves, cypress trees and vineyards up to the farm winery.

Lunch and tastings in the winery. This farm promotes the Italian wine & food culture. Monteriggioni

After lunch we will move to the Monteriggioni Castle (visit to the museum of weapons and ancient walls). Founded by the Sienese between 1213 and 1219 as an outpost against the Florentines, in antiquity Monteriggioni was famed as an impregnable fortress. Inside the castle you can visit the museum of medieval weapons.

Later we'll have a last stop in a Chianti winery. A typical small farm near Siena, where wine has been produced for a long time.Here we will have a second delicious wine tasting. At the end of the tasting we'll come back to your hotel or private apartment.
