• First stop in Montepulciano: free visit of the city and discovery of an ancient underground cellar, walk through tunnels dug into the tuff, under spectacular brick vaults.
• Guided wine-tour with 5 wine tastings (Nobile di Montepulciano, Rosso di Montepulciano and Brunello) in the Historic Cellar. If you like, during the tour our driver will show you excellent places to have a tuscan lunch.
• Later will move to Cortona for a second stage. Cortona is a traditional walled Etruscan city. Located about 600 meters above sea level, it offers a spectacular view of the surrounding valley and Lake Trasimeno.
• In the afternoon we will drive to Assisi and drop you off at your location, B&B or Hotel.

What To Expect

Montepulciano
The first stop will be in Montepulciano. Free visit of the main square and the Temple of San Biagio. You can choose where to have lunch or follow the advice of our driver. Montepulciano is a major producer of food and drink. Renowned for its pork, cheeses, pasta called pici, lentils and honey, it is known all over the world for its excellent red wine: Nobile and Rosso di Montepulciano. Our expert driver will guide you through the incredible underground cellars, where a qualified winemaker will show you gigantic oak barrels, in which the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG and Rosso di Montepulciano DOC "rest". At the end of the visit, you will participate in a tasting of the best wines with an explanation of their most important characteristics.

Cortona
After Montepuciano the second scheduled stop will be in Cortona. Free visit of the historical centre. Cortona is the main cultural and artistic center of the Val di Chiana after Arezzo. Cortona founded by the Etruscans (Original name “Curtun”) still retains many of its original remains from the Etruscan period, also Cortona encloses diferents story from characters that boasts great Renaissance artists, such as Luca Signorelli and Beato Angelico, as well as Pietro di Cortona from the Baroque period. Cortona and its countryside inspired also the famous film "Under the tuscan sun". Just outside the city we will also visit the suggestive Hermitage of San Francesco named "Le Celle".

Lake Trasimeno
During the transfer we will pass near the Trasimeno lake, possible stop on request. Lake Trasimeno is located in the green heart of Umbria, amidst beds of reeds and charming white water lilies. It’s a true natural paradise home to wild ducks, cormorants, kites and kingfishers. The transfer ends in Assisi at your hotel, private flat address, B&B or destination.
