Siena is the biggest and most known hill town of Tuscany. The city was founded by the romans in the years 62 b.C, it is located on top of three hills and hosts an amazing cathedral. San Gimignano is known as the town of the beautiful towers (“belle torri”), which used to be 76 between the 12th and 13th Century, nowadays there are 13 still.

Siena is an example of one of the best places in the world. It is a beautiful, historical town that has a lot to offer. It has been home for many famous artists – in particular Picasso and Monet.

The cityscape is breathtaking, and it is a very clean city with many small markets that sell unique items.

Palio di Siena
Palio di Siena is the world's most-visited tourist attraction, attracting more than ten million tourists each year. It is unique in that it takes place on horseback, as all of the action takes place before the eyes of the jockey and the horse.

It was originally a medieval Palio held in Siena, although now it includes other places.The festival is also famous because of its colorful competing factions, which are called "huomini" (men) and "donne" (women). The faction with the most points after a series of twenty-seven race wins is declared the winner.

Siena's history of Palio is traced to the thirteenth century. A law was passed that all horses pulling a vehicle had to cross the Piazza del Campo, a town square in Siena, before riding outside of it. The animals would be timed while they were on display and then auctioned off with winners given a measure of bread and a wine.

Historic Centre of San Gimignano
The town of San Gimignano is a beautiful walled medieval hilltown in the heart of Tuscany. It is well known for its stunning views and elegant architecture. It has been visited by numerous artists and writers over the centuries due to its incredible beauty that makes it a favorite destination.

Its walls are in the form of towers and its streets are narrow, twisting and covered with steps. The town is also home to many well-preserved medieval buildings protected by UNESCO, including the Palazzo Comunale (Town Hall) which was originally built in the 13th century and later reconstructed in Gothic style with an extravagant Baroque façade. It houses a remarkable cycle of paintings depicting biblical scenes, attributed to Gaudenzio Ferrari.
