It is then on to what was the political centre of Renaissance Florence, Piazza della Signoria. Then follows a stroll through the oldest part of the city to see the tower houses that date from the 1300s. Finally you reach Piazza Duomo where you can gaze upon Florence’s magnificent Cathedral with its striking green and white marble.  Crowned by Brunelleschi’s dome, a masterpiece of architectural achievement both for design and realization, the cathedral and its dome are enduring symbols of Renaissance Florence. The visit ends before the Porta dei Paradiso, the wonderfully decorated doors of the Bapistery.
